Hopefully will have a final one before Friday adding in Dec. 16 testimony. Public Testimony: Summary District 1: 022: N boundary at Kukuihaele. S boundary into Pauka'a and Kawiki (Hunt she lives in Kea'au) 043: Move into Hilo not Waimea (Melfi, Laupahoehoe) 046: Move into Hilo (Davis, Laupahoehoe) ID ec. 14: (Against inclusion of so much of Waimea in 1, Waimea should not be split: Richards, Eoff, Childs, Willey) (Support proposed map: Roby, Cook) Hawai `i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer Lui — Summary of public testimony Page 2 December 15, 2021 District 2: 027: Pi'ihonua: keep it together. Starts at Wainuenue and Akolea, across Wailuku River. Do not use Wainuenue or Wailuku River as it dissects our community. (Tulane, Pi'ihonua City Assoc) 030: Keep First United Church, Kaiser, Hilo Medical in Hilo. Don't move the boundary to Wainuenue. (Czarnecki) 028: Wailuku River folk connected to Hilo,not to Hamakua (Pocsidio). 039: Like proposed map putting Wailuku Drive in D2, not D1. (Pocsidio) 040: Keep Pi'ihonua in D2, do not move to D1. (Jeri Gertz) 048: Supports proposed map; Wailuku Drive should be in D2 not D1. (Barnes) District 3: 022: Extend at least to Railroad Ave. if HPP is split between 3 and 4 (Hunt) 031: Like having 2 Council members; favors Hustace 9.1. It brings together Papa'ewa, Keaukaha, and Piihonua and scattered Hawaiian Homestead lots now in D4. (Kupuna Moopuna, Hawaiian Homestead areas) 042: DHHL-East HI lands are in D3, should not be split. (Douglas) 047: Keep Keaukaha and Panaewa together in D3. Put Puna side of Haihai into D5.(Kekahuna). 051: Keep Keaukaha and all of Panaewa in D3; don't put 1/2 of Panaewa in D5. Take Puna side of Haihai for D5. (Kahawaiolaa) lDec. 14 (Put S. part of 3 into 5, Ford and O'Hara) (Don't split Panaewa, don't dilute Hawaiian voice. Miranda. Ford concurs) Districts 4 and 5: 021: HPP should be with Kea'au and Hilo; or split HPP in half. D5 split Hawaiian acres traditionally. Paradise Park should be in D5. All of Pahoa in 4. District 5 Ainaloa, Orchidland, Hawaiian Acres, Fern Acres; boundary in the Volcano area. (Hunt) 032: Don't let Puna meander into District 6. Keep upper Puna in 5 or 4. None of D5 in Hilo. Pahoa in D5 not 4. Wao o kele Hawaiian Acres and Fern acres in 5. Divide HPP. Some belongs with Hilo, more urban. (Gray) 050: Keep old line between D4 and D5 at the Pahoa Village Road, don't put new line for D5 near Paradise Park (Kuykendall) 053: Same as above (Tarletz, Lower Puna Rising) 054: Keep Eden Roc, Kopua Farmlots, Fern Forest, Mountain View etc i D5, not D6. (Fendt) 055: Don't split HPP. (Kekela) (Keep Pahoa split. D4 too big. (Markoff, Pahoa Association) (Don't put so many people in D4; they were undercounted. Olson) Don't split Paradise Park, Marvin -Porter) District 6: 022: Don't "tie in" S Kona and Ka'u as is currently, Include Fern Forest and Volcano in D6. Put Volcano Park in D5 to make the District less huge geographically (Hunt) 041: Don't put the boundary between between D5 and D6 between Fern Acres and Kopua Farmlots; do not add either to D6.
