RESOLUTION NO. 21
DRAFT
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO THE OFFICE OF THE
MAYOR FOR THE HAWAII ISLAND CHEF CHALLENGE SHOW.
WHEREAS, the Office of the Mayor is putting on the first ever Hawaii Island Chef
Challenge show in the coming months, which will include partnering local chefs with keiki
between the ages of 12 and 17; and
WHEREAS, starting in May, video segments for the show will be filmed at various
locations around the island with the final segment shown in August featuring the finalists and
Chef Sam Choy as celebrity judge; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Chef Challenge will also share stories from our local
farmers, ranchers, and chefs to learn about the challenges and rewards ofour agriculture, culture,
and culinary arts; and
WHEREAS, the Office ofthe Mayor is requesting funds to assist with expenses
associated with coordinating and filming of the Hawaii Island Chef Challenge show; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the Mayor
to provide funds for the Hawaii Island Chef Challenge show.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this

that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
with the terms of this resolution.
