RESOLUTION NO. 110 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO COVER THE COUNTY'S 20 PERCENT COST-
MATCH WITH THE STATE FOR THE ACQUISITION OF ONE OF FOUR VANS FOR
THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION, ELDERLY ACTIVITIES
DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation is providing to the
County of Hawai`i four 14-passenger vans, with the County responsible for 20 percent of the
cost of the vans; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, will
use the vans for its Coordinated Services for the Elderly program to provide transportation for
senior citizens aged 60 years and older and those with disabilities, to expand services, and to
supplement the current aging fleet of vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation requests funding assistance to
cover the County's 20 percent cost for one van, which will be based in East Hawai`i for the
Coordinated Services for the Elderly program; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to cover the County's 20 percent cost-match with the State for the
acquisition of one of four vans for the Elderly Activities Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
