HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 123 Draft 01 2016-2018tYOFp' COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 123 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION FOR THE 2017 WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. WHEREAS,the Waiakea High School Parent Teacher Student Association(PTSA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization that assists Waiakea High School with programs and activities that benefit the students that attend Waiakea High School, including the Waiakea High School Project Grad Night; and WHEREAS,the Waiakea High School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and WHEREAS, this alcohol-free and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after graduation; and WHEREAS,the Waiakea High School PTSA is requesting funds to defray the cost of hosting Project Grad Night, including facility rental fees at the Hilo Yacht Club; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth programs that promote alcohol-free and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night activities; and WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School PTSA for the 2017 Waiakea High School Project Grad Night; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: 1,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief 1,000 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control 1,000 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services Waiakea High School PTSA- 2017 Waiakea High School Project Grad Night) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
