Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Hawai`i Revised Statutes (hereinafter"HRS") §92-3.5, the Hawai`i County Council will be conducting this meeting via videoconference. Page 24 II. 4oJ tY OF L \iLli COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII OF..MF` RESOLUTION NO. 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND LIONS FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL PROJECTS AND EVENTS TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE IN FAMILY LIFE. WHEREAS, the Big Island Lions Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves and strengthens our community through outreach events, awareness programs, and community service projects; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Lions Foundation is requesting funding assistance for educational projects and events to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol and substance abuse in family life; and WHEREAS, such events include the annual `Ohana Fun Day at Clem Akina Park, the Celebrate Your Family community fair at the Sangha Hall, and the family violence summit in Hilo; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control brings together nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and concerned members of the public to find positive solutions to address the growing epidemic of alcohol and substance abuse in Hawai`i County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Lions Foundation for educational projects and events to raise awareness about the effects of alcohol and substance abuse on family life. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: FUND: General AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: 2,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief 2,000 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control 2,000 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services Big Island Lions Foundation) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
