RESOLUTION NO. 161 17
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL A LIGHTING
SYSTEM FOR THE PARKING LOT AT THE STANLEY COSTALES WAIAKEA-UKA
GYM.
WHEREAS,the Stanley Costales Waiakea-Uka Gym is located at the Waiakea-Uka
Park; and
WHEREAS,residents use and enjoy the Stanley Costales Waiakea-Uka Gym for a wide
variety of nighttime activities, including basketball games, volleyball matches, and community
meetings and gatherings; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation has identified the need for a
lighting system to be installed at the Stanley Costales Waiakea-Uka Gym to illuminate the
adjacent parking lot and to provide safety for users of the gym; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to purchase and install a lighting system for the parking lot at the Stanley
Costales Waiakea-Uka Gym.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council ofthe County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
