RESOLUTION NO. 554 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PURCHASE A BATTING CAGE AND NET FOR
AINAOLA PARK.
WHEREAS, `Ainaola Park is a Department of Parks and Recreation facility located in
Hilo that serves as a social, recreational, athletic resource for the residents of Waiakea and its
surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation would like to purchase a batting
cage and net to provide a safe facility for baseball and softball players to practice and train at
Ainaola Park; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation will install the batting cage and net
as part of a Friends of the Park improvement project with the help ofvolunteers who will clean
up the deteriorated area, and also remove old flooring, weeds, and dirt before installing the
batting cage; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to purchase a batting cage and net for `Ainaola Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
