RESOLUTION NO. 595 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KEAUKAHA
SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR ITS KEAUKAHA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
PRESCHOOL PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Keaukaha School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
supports the students and programs of Keaukaha Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Keaukaha Elementary School has a preschool program that is an
experimental grant project of the Hawai`i State Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, Keaukaha School Foundation is requesting funds for its preschool program
for year-end supplies and activities related to student performance and accomplishment; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports positive juvenile
delinquency prevention and intervention initiatives; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Keaukaha School Foundation for year-end supplies
and activities at the Keaukaha Elementary School preschool program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
