RESOLUTION NO. 596 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO REPAIR THE ROOF AND GUTTERS OF THE
EAST HAWAII CULTURAL CENTER.
WHEREAS, the East Hawai`i Cultural Center is a County facility located at 141
Kalakaua Street, that formerly served as the police station and judiciary building for Hilo; and
WHEREAS,the building is maintained by the Department of Parks and Recreation and
is used by the East Hawai`i Cultural Council to host art exhibits, workshops, and classes for the
general public; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to assist with
the cost of repairing the leaking roof and gutters of the East Hawai`i Cultural Center; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to assist with the cost ofrepairing the leaking roof and gutters ofthe East
Hawai`i Cultural Center building.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
