RESOLUTION NO. 734 i$
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO SUPPORT THE 2018 SURFERS HEALING CAMP AT
RICHARDSON OCEAN PARK AND/OR OTHER BEACH PARKS IN COUNCIL
DISTRICT 3.
WHEREAS, Richardson Ocean Park will host the eighth annual Surfers Healing Camp
on November 10, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Surfers Healing Camp gives children with autism and other disabilities
the rare opportunity to surf with professionals under supervised conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funding assistance for
the Surfers Healing event at Richardson Ocean Park, including T-shirts, food, medals,
equipment, supplies, printing, and facility rental fees; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting that any unused
appropriated funds be used for other programs and activities at Richardson Ocean Park, or for
improving other beach parks in Council District 3; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for the primary purpose of supporting the 2018 Surfers Healing Camp at
Richardson Ocean Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds appropriated but not needed for the primary
purpose of this resolution may be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the
secondary purpose of assisting other programs and activities at Richardson Ocean Park, or for
the tertiary purpose of improving beach parks located in Council District 3.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council ofthe County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
