RESOLUTION NO. 735 IS
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO SUPPORT ITS RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
AT RICHARDSON OCEAN PARK AND/OR OTHER BEACH PARKS IN COUNCIL
DISTRICT 3.
WHEREAS, Richardson Ocean Park in the district of South Hilo is the location of
numerous ocean, cultural, and environmental activities, programs, and educational events
throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funding assistance for
programs at Richardson Ocean Park, including boards for swim instruction, tabis, and pop-up
tents; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting that any unused
appropriated funds be used for materials and supplies for beach parks in Council District 3; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for the primary purpose of supporting recreational programs and activities
at Richardson Ocean Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds appropriated but not needed for the primary
purpose of this resolution may be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation for the
secondary purpose of improving beach parks located in Council District 3.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
