RESOLUTION NO. 287 19
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR SIGNAGE FOR THE KEAUKAHA-PANA`EWA
FARMERS ASSOCIATION NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.
WHEREAS,Neighborhood Watch is a program of the Police Department that helps to
organize concerned citizens to reduce criminal activities in residential areas; and
WHEREAS, the Keaukaha-Pana`ewa Farmers Association Neighborhood Watch (KPFA
Neighborhood Watch) is a community-led organization that works in partnership with the Police
Department to reduce crime in the Pana`ewa Farm Lots area; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funding assistance to purchase and
install Neighborhood Watch signs for the KPFA Neighborhood Watch; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department supports actively involving the community in crime
prevention programs; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Police Department
to provide Neighborhood Watch signage for the Keaukaha-Pana`ewa Farmers Association
Neighborhood Watch.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms ofthis resolution.
