A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO KEAUKAHA SCHOOL
FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE INSTALLATION
OF TWO WATER STATIONS AT KEAUKAHA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, Keaukaha School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that
supports the students and programs of Keaukaha Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to support clean living, ensure adequate hydration, and decrease
dependence on unhealthy beverage and lifestyle choices, the administration of Keaukaha
Elementary School is installing two drinking and bottle-refilling water stations on its campus;
and
WHEREAS, Keaukaha School Foundation is requesting funding assistance to purchase,
ship, install, and connect the water stations at Keaukaha Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public and youth programs,
whether through education, enforcement, or activities that promote compliance with liquor laws
and responsible drinking; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to Keaukaha School Foundation to assist with expenses
relating to the installation of two water stations at Keaukaha Elementary School.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
