RESOLUTION NO. 659 20
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S TRAINING
EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, Hawai`i Fire Department personnel are front-line first responders providing
all-hazards emergency services; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak requires additional training expenses
to protect first responders from contracting and spreading an infectious disease; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department develops, implements, and maintains program
strategies to support the effective response and mitigation of disaster-type incidents or events!A
in collaboration with all County public safety agencies tasked with planning for, responding to,
and mitigating events; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire
Department for training expenses, especially as it relates to infectious disease prevention,
response, and mitigation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds appropriated/transferred by this resolution
may be expended in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
