SUBJECT: Presentation from the Department of Public Works: Administrative Code,
Energov, procedure update.
I am requesting a brief presentation from the Department of Public Works in anticipation of the
introduction of a new Administrative Code. It will consolidate the regulations and
administration sections of(Chapter 5 "Building", Chapter 9 "Electricity", and Chapter 17
Plumbing") relating to permits, inspections and violations. The department will also
communicate amendments to all applicable sections, divisions, and/or chapters of the code that
the administration will be proposing in early 2019.
The department will also update the County Council with changes to the processing of building
permits including the developments ofthe supporting Energov permitting software system.
This presentation is anticipated to take 10 minutes. Please place this item on the appropriate
Committee agenda for January 8, 2019.
