Chung, Chair g and Members of the Hawaii County Council FROM: U xSueLeeLoy, Council Member 7„:_:-.:17 DATE: June 3, 2020 SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 658-20: A Resolution Determining the Real Property Tax Rates for the County of Hawai`i for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2021. Below is a proposed amendment to Resolution No. 658-20. This amendment adds a clause requesting the Director of Finance to work with the Council to establish a special fund for community benefits using tax revenues collected from the Residential Tier Two property class beginning in FY.20-21. The proposed amendment is illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 658-20.New material is underscored. Resolution No. 658-20 is amended by adding a new BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED clause as the third such clause to read as follows: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is requested to work with the Council to establish a special fund for community benefits derived from real property tax revenue collected from parcels in the Residential Tier Two property class in the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021."
