MAYOR'S MESSAGE
COACH SHARON PETERSON
On behalf of the citizens of the County of Hawai`i, it is my great
pleasure to recognize Sharon Peterson for her selfless service, humble
leadership, and optimistic coaching style, throughout her exemplary career.
Sharon is a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA)
and UH-Hilo Hall of Fame Volleyball Coach, who coached the Hawai`i
Preparatory Academy boys' and girls' program for 17 years.
Coach Peterson's knowledge of the game and passion for teaching has
impacted generations of student athletes and coaches around the league. We
honor Sharon for all she has given to our community and her stellar career
accomplishments. She is a true Champion!
