A regularly advertised hearing on the application of JOHN HEWETT & PATRINA NIU-
HEWETT (PL-SPP-2021-000005)was called to order at 9:33 a.m. via live stream online
meeting, with Chairman Dean Au presiding.

Consideration and Adoption of Proposed Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law and Decision and
Order for the denial of Special Permit No. PL-SPP-2021-000005 for the operation of a self-
storage and mailing service facility and related improvements on an approximately 1.64-acre
property in the State Land Use Agricultural District. The subject property is located at 16-308
`Ainaloa Boulevard in the Orchid Land Estates Subdivision, approximately 1 mile southwest of
its intersection with Kea`au-Pahoa Road, or Highway 130, directly across from the `Ainaloa
Longhouse complex, Orchidland Estates Subdivision, Kea`au, Hawaii, TMK: (3) 1-6-008:328.

AU: Now, at this time, I'd like to go into unfinished business. Applicant John Hewett and
Patrina Niu-Hewett. Consideration and Adoption of Proposed Finding of Facts, Conclusion of
Law and Decision and Order for the denial of Special Permit No. PL-SPP-2021-000005 for the

FRENZ: Just one clarification. Chair, you said `Ainaola I just want to correct that to `Ainaloa.

LIN: Go ahead John.
REPLOGLE: I move that the Proposed Findings of Fact, Conclusions of Law. Decision of Order
Be approved as adopted.
LIN: I second.
AU: Thank you, Commissioner Replogle, thank you Commissioner Lin. So, motion was made
by Commissioner Replogle and seconded by Commissioner Lin. Any discussions? With no
discussions, let's go ahead and do our roll call vote please.

LIN: Aye.
