Quorum was reached with six members present. II. ROLL CALL Members present: Farrah -Marie Gomes, Andrew M. Langtry, Shana Kukila, Hannah Preston -Pita, Lisa -Ann Pana, Elena Cabatu, Malia Kekai - Hawai'i County Corporation Counsel (ex-officio). Members excused: Evelyn Kahea Lee, Christina Basham, Cyd Hoffeld - CSW Commissioner (ex-officio). III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES for March 16, 2022 Elena motioned to approve the March 16, 2022 minutes; seconded by Hannah. All approved and motion carried. IV. TREASURER'S REPORT A. Approval of Treasurer's Report by Andrew. Andrew did not receive an expenditure report from the County, but knows that $182 was spent in April for cell phone cards for Teen Dating project. $9,139 remains and $6,927 is anticipated to be spent with remaining balance of $2,212. Shana moved to approve treasurer's report, seconded by Lisa. All approved and motion carried. V. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC No statements from the public were reported. County of Hawaii MITCHELL D. REPORTS A. Hawaii State CSW (HSCSW) liaison report a. No report from Cyd b. HSCSW invited Hawaii County Committee to present an update on the County's projects, data, challenges and upcoming campaigns at the HSCSW conference on July 22. Lisa moved that the CSW respond with a yes to attend. Lisa seconded. Action Item: Farrah to agendize preparation of update for HSCSW conference. B. Family Violence Interagency Committee (FVIC) a. FVIC meeting minutes from 4/4 and 4/13 have been emailed by Allen. These include info about annual recognitions like Denim Day at UHH on April 27. Also included in the minutes are legislative priorities. C. Missing Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls (MMNHWG) Task Force a. The MMNHWG taskforce is looking at 88 data elements currently. There is analysis of these data elements being done in hopes of standardizing data collection across enforcement and support agencies. CSW members had robust discussion on data points. Next task force meeting is on Thursday, June 16, 2022. b. May 5 is National Missing Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Day. Individuals will be hanging red dresses to bring attention to the MMIWG movement. c. Oahu is planning an event in Waikiki and a press conference at the end of the legislative session. d. Maui is organizing a motorcycle run. e. Hawaii County does not have an event, but there may be an opportunity to hustle to organize an event. Lisa is interested in becoming involved. Farrah suggested each CSW member take a picture of an empty red dress and we can post to our Facebook page throughout the day. CSW members agreed to text a picture and message to Shana. Communication Committee will take the lead for posting to Facebook. IX. OLD BUSINESS A. Sub -Committee Memberships a. Nomination and Election of Sub -Committee members — no new elections b. NOTE: Each sub -committee is limited to 4 members. B. Communications Sub -Committee reports a. Updates to brochure i. Tabled -waiting for the last member to join. County of Hawaii MITCHELL D. Family Services Directory i. Distribution log 1. Farrah took a box of directories to Christina in Kona. 2. CSW received a request for directories from Neighborhood Place of Kona. Christina planned to fulfill that request. B. Outreach Sub -Committee reports Communications: Shana has been posting on the CSW social media. Elena and Shana will work on a shell for the MMIWG May 5 posting. a. 2022 Year of the Mother Farrah presented the Year of the Mother banners, fresh off the press. Two banners were printed — one for Hilo and Kona. Shana asked for suggestions about high visibility ideas to hang it. i. Approval of thank you letters to Mayor, UHH, interviewees, etc. Elena moved to approve letters and Hannah seconded. Discussion — Andrew would like to see the name of the chair and signature on the letter. All approved as amended. ii. Approval of PSA Elena moved to approve the PSA with edits and additional quote from chair. Lisa seconded. Discussion — Andrew CSW Report on the Status of Women should be capitalized the title of the report. All approved as amended. iii. Approval of budget CSW Pride sponsorship plus some funds for supplies to support the booth for $1,212 motion. Elena moved, Hannah seconded. All approved. iv. Approval of certificates Moved by Shana and seconded by Lisa to approve certificates and add signature line for chair. v. Approval for community partnership with PRIDE parade Approved in budget request above. b. Teen Dating Violence More cards are ready for pick-up at the Prosecuting Attorney's office. c. Equal Pay No updates. D. Legislative & Advocacy a. Human Trafficking i. Approval of budget - waiting for project rationale from Kahea. b. Equal Pay Full page Equal Pay ad ran in the Hawaii Tribune -Herald on April 12, 2022. Farrah will send everyone a copy. c. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Summit Approval of budget The Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum (HIWLF) would to restart activities around the island. Organizers would like to begin with a book club, starting with Abby Wombach's Wolfpack and Melanie Ho's Beyond Leaning In. It's likely the next summit could happen in 2023. There was a motion to approve $1,000 to Friends of the Future as the fiscal sponsor for the HIWLF to support 2022 leadership activities for women around Hawaii Island. Elena moved and Shana seconded. All approved. X. NEW BUSINESS All items in this section were tabled and will be pushed up in next month's agenda. Action Item: Farrah to agendize toward top of next month's agenda. a. Sunshine Law updates b. Approval to amend by-laws to address the following: i. Staggered terms ii. Reappointments iii. New member appointments XI. ANNOUNCEMENTS a. CSW meetings to remain on Zoom until further notice. b. 2022 meeting dates — Keep on the third Wednesday of each month at 9:30am. Chair to remove dates from agenda. No objections. XII.
