Pursuant to Act 220, Session Laws of Hawai’i 2021, which amended the Sunshine Law to allow meetings to be remotely conducted online, effective January 1, 2022, The Game Management Advisory Commission meetings will be held online, and the location listed below is open to the public to attend the meeting in person and provide testimony. PRESENTATIONS: a. Hawai’i County Parks and Recreation Director Maurice Messina will present an update on the Laupahoehoe Boat Ramp closure. b. Vice-Chair GMAC Commissioner Brian Ley will report on the Pohoiki Boat Ramp and the Kumukahi Lighthouse access. c. Hawai’i Department of Agriculture, Acting Pesticide Program Manager Greg Takeshima will discuss the “HogStop” issue. 5. OLD BUSINESS: a. GMAC approval of letter advising Mayor Roth and the County Council of HogStop, a contraceptive bait used to control feral hogs on pastures, rangeland, forests, and non-crop area. b. Discussion on working with the County Council in drafting legislature in banning the use of HogStop. 7. ANNOUNCEMENTS: a. GMAC introduced bills in the 2022 Hawai’i State Legislature Session, HB1872 and SB3298 passed over into law. b. New District 6 - GMAC Commissioner: Austin Griffey. 8. COMMITTEE REPORTS: a. COMMISSIONER REPORT BY DISTRICT: 10. ADJOURNMENT: (8:00 p.m.) Executive Session: The Game Management Advisory Commission anticipates it may convene in one or more executive sessions regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and 92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. A 2/3 vote pursuant to HRS Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive session. Anyone wishing to discuss an item that does not appear on the agenda should call the commission secretary at 808- 323-4444 or email Barbara.Kossow@hawaiicounty.gov to have the subject placed on the next available agenda. If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaiʻi County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist. {Article15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawaiʻi County Code}. “A lobbyist is any individual who is engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials.” Note: A meeting held by interactive conference technology shall be automatically recessed for up to 30 minutes to restore communication when audiovisual communication cannot be maintained with all members participating in the meeting or with the “in person” location identified in this agenda. The meeting may reconvene when either audiovisual communication is restored, or audio-only communication is established after an unsuccessful attempt to restore audiovisual communication. If it is not possible to reconvene the meeting as provided in this subsection within 30 minutes after an interruption to communication, then the meeting shall be automatically terminated.
