MIRANDA) <br /> was called to order at 10:03 a.m. in the County of <br />Hawaii, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii, with Chairman <br />William Graham presiding. <br />PRESENT: William Graham ABSENT & EXCUSED: C. MIRANDA) <br />Revocation of Special Permit No. 05-009 granted on August 18, 2005 which allowed the <br />establishment of a contractor’s base yard on approximately one acre of land situated in the State <br />Land Use Agricultural District.The property is located along the north (makai) side of the <br />Hawaii Belt Highway (Highway 19) at approximately the 47.5-mile marker, Kapoaula, <br />Hamakua, Hawaii, TMK: 4-7-7: portion of 55. <br />GRAHAM: All right, on our agenda today the first item we have relates to Special <br />Permit No. 05-009 which was granted on August 18, 2005. It allowed the establishment of a <br />contractor’s base yard on approximately one acre of land in the State Land Use Agricultural <br />District. The is in the Hamakua area along the north side of the Hawaii Belt Highway <br />(Highway 19) at the 47.5-mile marker. The application before us today is a request for a <br />revocation of this special permit. Jeff, could you give us background, please. <br />DARROW: Sure. Good morning, Mr. Chairman and Members of the Planning <br />Commission. If I can direct your attention to the maps on the board. Just to briefly update you <br />on this particular application, this is a continued hearing for a revocation that has been initiated <br />by the Planning Director. The revocation is for Special Permit 05-009 which was originally <br />issued to Melvin W. Miranda on August 18, 2005 to establish a contractor’s base yard on <br />approximately one acre of land on an approximately 17-acre parcel. <br /> EXHIBIT A <br />1 <br /> <br />
