HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-07-03 Planning Commission Agenda NOTICE OF SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS PLANNING COMMISSION AGENDA COUNTY OF HAWAIÒI NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Planning Commission of the County of HawaiÒi in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, HawaiÒi Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of HawaiÒi, and the Planning CommissionÓs Rules of Practice and Procedure. DATE: Thursday July 3, 2003 TIME: 9:00 a.m. PLACE: Ohana Keauhou Beach Resort, Kahalu'u Ballroom - 786740 Alii Drive, North Kona, Hawaii NEW BUSINESS Î 9:00 a.m. 1.APPLICANT: LOT OWNERS WITHIN THE CHAMPION RIDGE AT MAUNA LANI SUBDIVISION (03-012) Application for a change of zone for approximately 16.125 acres Multiple Residential Î 3,000 square foot (RM-3) to a Single Family Residential Î 20,000 square foot (RS-20) district. The area involved consists of 29 existing lots within the Champion Ridge at Mauna Lani Subdivision, Mauna Lani Resort, Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-8-27:1, 3-7, 9-12, 16-27 and 29-35. 2.APPLICANT: CLIFFORD KABUMOTO (SLU 03-002/REZ 03-007) Applications for a State Land Use boundary amendment from the Agricultural to the Rural District and a Change of Zone from the Agricultural 3-acre (A-3a) to the Residential and Agricultural 1-acre (RA-1a) district for approximately 7.315 acres of land. The property is located on the west (makai) side of Mamalahoa Highway, approximately 150 feet northwest of the Mamalahoa Highw Kaloko Drive intersection, Kohanaiki Homesteads, Kohanaiki, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-3-19:21 and 30. 3.APPLICANT: SEVEN AND SONS, LLC (SMA 03-003) Application for a Special Management Area Use Permit to allow th of a 10-unit condominium project consisting of two 2-story buildings and related improvements. The property is located approximately 67 feet east (mauka) side of Alii Drive, at its closest point, and approximately 1,650 feet north of Holualoa stnd Bay, Holualoa 1 and 2 Partition, North Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 7-6-14:26. According to Rule 1 (General Rules) of the Planning Commission, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name; residence address; and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual. If testimony is being submitted on behalf of an organization, documentation showing membership ratification should accompany the testimony. Written testimony shall be submitted with an original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Commission would appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the hearing d and thorough Commission review. The Chairperson pursuant to Rul testimony that is irrelevant or unduly repetitious. Maps showing the general location and boundaries of the areas under consideration and/or plans of the proposed developments are on file and open to inspection during office hours at the Planning Department, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, HawaiÒi 96720 and at the Planning Department Kona Office, 75-5706 Kuakini Highway, Suite 109, Kailua-Kona, HawaiÒi 96740. Pursuant to Rule 4, Contested Case Procedure, of the County of HawaiÒi Planning Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure, any person seeking to intervene as a party to a contested case hearing on item no. 3 of the above agenda is required to file a written request which must be received in the Planning Department no later than seven (7) calendar days prior to the Planning CommissionÓs first public meeting on the matter. Such written request shall be in conformity with Rule 4, in a form as provided in Rule 4 Appendix Standing in a Contested Case Hearing.Ñ The written petition/request shall be filed with the Planning Commission at Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo, HawaiÒi 96720, and accompanied by a filing fee of $100 payable t Finance. Any party may retain counsel if that person so desires. Rule 4 may be inspected or purchased ($2.50) at the above-cited location. Any disabled person requiring special assistance or person requiring auxiliary aid and/or services to participate in the hearing should contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 five (5) working days prior to the hearing so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
