APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 29, 2021 MEETING – Patricia Nye, Committee Chair motion to approve the Minutes of the last meeting. Motion to accept the minutes by Clyde Silva, and seconded by Enola Kaneta. Unanimously approved. 4. EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr 1) Since our last meeting, Hawaii County Office of Aging (HCOA) has closed and submitted its State Performance Report (SPR). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years, our variances between years for a couple of services been over the ten percent “+” or “-“threshold. This threshold applies to Consumers, Units, Dollars expended. 2) We are still facing challenges in attempting to fill positions. We did interviews this week to fill the Data Analyst position. We will be reposting the position again as we were not able to find a suitable candidate. We also have another ADRC position posted and awaiting a list for that position. 3) Attended our first legislative briefing on December 8, 2021 called by the Senate and House, Health and Human Services Committee Chairs. This briefing was to have Executive on Aging (EOA) report on the funding and services funded through the EOA and AAA’s (Area Agencies on Aging). This involved current Federal and State funding, and the relationship to funding asked from EOA and Kupuna Caucus in the upcoming legislative session. 6. STATE POLICY ADVISORY BOARD FOR ELDERLY AFFAIRS (PABEA) – Shelly Ogata (Handout), “Island Voices” by Roberta Wong Murray. 7. CORPORATION COUNSEL, SUNSHINE LAW TRAINING – J Yoshimoto 9. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Patricia Nye will not be able to attend the next meeting, and Clyde Silva, Vice Chair will conduct the next few meetings. 10.
