5. EXECUTIVE ON AGING REPORT AND UPDATES – Horace Farr
1) Since our last meeting, Hawaii County Office of Aging (HCOA) has closed
and submitted its State Performance Report (SPR). Due to the COVID-19
pandemic over the past two years, our variances between years for a couple
of services been over the ten percent “+” or “-“threshold. This threshold
applies to Consumers, Units, Dollars expended.
2) We are still facing challenges in attempting to fill positions. We did
interviews this week to fill the Data Analyst position. We will be reposting
the position again as we were not able to find a suitable candidate. We also
have another ADRC position posted and awaiting a list for that position.
3) Attended our first legislative briefing on December 8, 2021 called by the
Senate and House, Health and Human Services Committee Chairs. This
briefing was to have Executive on Aging (EOA) report on the funding and
services funded through the EOA and AAA’s (Area Agencies on Aging).
This involved current Federal and State funding, and the relationship to
funding asked from EOA and Kupuna Caucus in the upcoming legislative
session.
