RESOLUTION NO. 527 22
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R.
SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR THE
HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S OCEAN SAFETY DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to provide fire, emergency, and rescue equipment and supplies to
the Hawai`i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Fire Department has identified the need for water safety crafts,
tow boards, and related equipment for its Ocean Safety Division, which will improve
departmental readiness during emergency and hazard responses; and
I WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is requesting funds to purchase
two water safety crafts,two tow boards, and related equipment for the Hawaii Fire
Department's Ocean Safety Division; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawai`i Fire
Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to purchase
equipment for the Hawai`i Fire Department's Ocean Safety Division.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
