RE: Agenda Item VII 1. Recommendation To Apply for EPA Recycling Infrastructure Funding
Dear Chair and Commission Members
Mr. K’s Recycling & Redemption Center strongly urges the commission to recommend to the County
Council to apply for the EPA Recycling Infrastructure Funding. I also wish to recommend that a
facilitator and grant writer be assigned to organize meetings with stakeholders ahead of the release
of the Request for Application expected to come out this fall.
Mr. K’s Recycling & Redemption Center has been in business since 2009 and is a full-service
recycler. We recycle HI-5 beverage containers, metals, batteries, catalytic converters, electronics
and have an electronic IT repair shop. Because our community over the years has supported Mr. K’s
Recycling through our various services and resources we are able to give back to our community
by utilizing our IT repair shop who will be contributing to various programs by donating
computers.
