I am submitting this testimony in opposition to a proposal by Dwayne Cravalho to change the zoning of the 7,500 sq
ft triangle parcel of land at the intersection of Hoea Road and Akoni Pule Highway from agriculture to commercial
designation. This parcel is right in downtown Hawi where there already is a lot of congestion. Tourists flock the
area and there is no room for local people to go there now... this will add to the problems. Our town needs to be
held with pride, not with porta-potties at the entrance. Please reconsider and do not allow this inappropriate change
in designation. We need to hold our agricultural land a priority for EVERYONE. Do not start a flood of changes
for this one project that is not pono.
