NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND HEARINGS LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION COUNTY OF HAWAII NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following matters to be considered by the Leeward Planning Commission of the County of Hawaii in accordance with the provisions of Chapters 91 and 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 6-4.3 of the Charter of the County of Hawaii, and the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. DATE: Friday, October 16, 2009 TIME: 9:30 a.m. PLACE: Waikoloa Beach Marriott Hotel 69-275 Waikoloa Drive Waikoloa, Hawaii NEW BUSINESS – 9:30 a.m. APPLICANT: PUAKO BAY INVESTORS, LLC (SMA 07-16) 1. Amendment to condition no. 2 (secure water commitment) and related conditions of Special Management Area Use Permit No. 07-16 which allowed the development of an 8- lot residential subdivision and related improvements. The property is located on the makai side of Puako Beach Drive, adjacent to and east of the Puako boat ramp, Lalamilo, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-9-2:1 and 2 . INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR 2. Amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) allowing solar energy facilities within the County’s Agricultural zoned district provided that the property is within the Land Study Bureau’s class D or E soils category. APPLICANT: PARKER SCHOOL (USE 05-001) 3. Amendment to Use Permit No. 05-001 to allow the expansion of the Parker School complex to 14.32 acres situated within the Agricultural 1-acre (A-1a) and Single-Family Residential 7,500 square feet (RS-7.5) zoned district. The amendment is to allow the expansion of the school facilities which would include the construction of a new gymnasium, athletic fields, a new middle school complex and educational use of an existing warehouse structure.
