The plan of a resource recovery park at Kea'au Transfer station sounds very feasible given the
amount of growing population in Pahoa and also sounds like a good intention of use for the
grant money. I believe that Kea'au should be like a pilot program to see the community
response and then other resource recovery parks can open elsewhere on the island. The fact
that the money would go towards reducing the waste stream is very positive and I support this
initiative, especially for plastic, and tools which do not belong in the landfill.
I look forward to utilizing the resource recovery park and the benefits it would have for our
island.
