RESOLUTION NO. 545 2.2
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO
EDUCATION ARTS REPERTORY THEATRE TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT FOR ITS
CONCERT AND THEATER PRODUCTIONS.
WHEREAS, the Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (HEART) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization dedicated to providing arts education and performance opportunities for
people of all ages in Hawaii County; and
WHEREAS, through its Concerts in the Park series, Performing Arts Summer Camp,
and its many performances at the Palace Theater and East Hawaii Cultural Center, HEART is
becoming one of the foremost theater companies on the island; and
WHEREAS, HEART is requesting funds to purchase computer and software equipment
to conduct its concert and theater productions; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation supports educational and
enrichment activities for all residents of Hawaii County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to HEART to purchase equipment for its concert and
theater productions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
