The purpose of the draft bill is to specifically address the <br />permissibility of agricultural tourism or its impacts in the various zoning districts. <br />GALDONES:Norman are you going to take the next item? <br />HAYASHI:Basically, Im going to defer that to the Planning Director, this is a <br />continuation of- this was carried over from the last meeting. Okay. <br />GALDONES:Mr. Yuen. We are on Agenda item Number 6, Commissioners. This is a <br />continued hearing on the amendment to Chapter 25, Zoning Code of the Hawaii County Code <br />relating to Agricultural Tourism. <br />YUEN:This is a continuation of a matter that we had at the last Hilo meeting and <br />this is a proposed ordinance prepared by the Planning Department. The purpose of the ordinance <br />is to establish a bright line for when agricultural tourism is allowed and when you need a special <br />permit for it. <br />The background of this is that many agricultural operations on the island are interested in having <br />some kind of tourism related focus whether its a pass of tours, bringing groups in and selling <br />merchandise to these.
