HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-05-21 Leeward Planning Commission Minutes LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION COUNTY OF HAWAIÒI MINUTES MAY 21, 2010 The Leeward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:40 a Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, Ballroom I, 75-5660 Palani Road, with Chairman Frederic Housel presiding. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Frederic Housel, Brandi Beaudet, Lani Bowman, Geraldine Giffin and Richard Nelson ABSENT AND EXCUSED: Wayne Iokepa STAFF PRESENT: Brandon Gonzalez (Deputy Corporation Counsel), BJ Leithead Todd (Planning Director), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager) and Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner) The Chair introduced the Commissioners and staff to members of t The Commission took up the following item at 9:40 a.m. with seve attendance: APPLICANT: HIRAM RIVERA (REZ 10-120) Change of Zone from Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) to Family Agricul acres of land. The property is located along the west side of thmalahoa Highway, nd approximately 400 feet north of Makua Lani Christian School, Honhau 2, North Kona, HawaiÒi, TMK: 7-4-6:22. (SEE EXHIBIT A) The Commission took up the following item at 9:55 a.m. with six attendance: APPLICANTS: ALI‘I BEACH ESTATES III CONDOMINIUM LOT OWNERS (SMA 314) Amendment to Condition Nos. 2 (water commitment), 3 (final plan and 10 (submission of restrictive covenants) of Special Management Area Use Permit No. 314, which allowed the construction of six single-family residential The property is located approximately 450 feet southeast (Keauho stnd School, Hlualoa 1 and 2, North Kona, HawaiÒi, TMK: 7-6-17:6. (SEE EXHIBIT C) MINUTES Î At 12:26 p.m., the Commission took up the following minutes: April 16, 2010 Î It was moved by Commissioner Beaudet and second Bowman that the minutes be approved as submitted. Motion was un voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS Î Commissioner Giffin inquired whether it is possible for her to attend a Sunshine Law workshop in Waimea, which is offered in of Corporation Counsel. Mr. Gonzalez said that if there are enou Corporation Counsel should be able to accommodate a class in Wai with the Office of Corporation Counsel.
