<br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAIÒI <br />MINUTES <br />OCTOBER 16, 2009 <br /> <br />The Leeward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:43 a.m. in the Waikoloa Beach <br />Marriott Hotel, AliÒi III Room, 69-275 Waikoloa Drive, Waikoloa, HawaiÒi, with Chairman <br />Rodney Watanabe presiding. <br />PRESENT: Rodney Watanabe <br /> Brandi Beaudet <br />Geraldine Giffin <br /> <br /> Frederic Housel <br /> Wayne Iokepa <br /> <br />Bill Brilhante <br />, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />BJ Leithead Todd, Planning Director <br /> <br />Norman Hayashi, Planning Program Manager <br />Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner <br />Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner <br />Maija Cottle, Staff Planner <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: <br />Lani Bowman <br />The Chair introduced the Commissioners and staff to members of the public. <br />The Commission took up the following item at 9:43 a.m. with three people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />APPLICANT: PUAKO BAY INVESTORS, LLC (SMA 07-16) <br />Amendment to condition no. 2 (secure water commitment) and relat <br />Management Area Use Permit No. 07-16 which allowed the developme <br />subdivision and related improvements. The property is located on the makai side of Puak <br />Beach Drive, adjacent to and east of the Puak boat ramp, Lalamilo, South Kohala, HawaiÒi, <br />TMK: 6-9-2:1 and 2 <br />. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br />The Commission took up the following item at 10:00 a.m. with four people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />INITIATOR: PLANNING DIRECTOR <br />Amendment to Chapter 25 (Zoning Code), HawaiÒi County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br />amended) allowing solar energy facilities within the CountyÓs Agricultural zoned district <br />provided that the property is within the Land Study BureauÓs class D or E soils category. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
