Homelessness and Housing Support Grants Request for Proposals Updates
Thirty-one applications from twenty-one different non-profit organizations were received by a
December 19 deadline for the Homelessness and Housing Support Grants Request for Proposals
(RFP). The total amount requested for all proposed projects exceeded $25 million with about $8
million available to potentially award in the first of an expected five fiscal years of County
funding.
With the broad interest and sizable response received, the Office of Housing and Community
Development (OHCD) seeks to ensure that its Evaluation Committee has the reasonable and
practical timeframe possible to thoroughly conduct their review and recommendations process.
Due to the volume of proposals submitted, OHCD provides these updates to the estimated
schedule outlined in Section 1.5 of the RFP:
Selection/Award Notification on or before February 10, 2023
Grant Agreement Execution Period February 13, 2023 – February 24, 2023
(or before this projected time range)
Tentative Agreement Commencement Date February 27, 2023
OHCD also asks that applicants be prepared for possible communications from the Evaluation
Committee. If the Committee requests additional information or has questions on a proposal, it
will attempt to conduct that outreach approximately between January 25, 2023 and February 1,
2023. This may include scheduling a meeting.
“We are pleased and encouraged by the high number of organizations that submitted a proposal
to our RFP”, said Housing Administrator Susan Kunz. “Great effort and care went into preparing
these proposals and we appreciate our many partners who stepped forward. The OHCD believes
that we owe applicants due diligence and thoughtful consideration in reviewing each proposal.
The RFP Evaluation Committee has a challenging task but is inspired by the passion from the
community and I look forward to their recommendations.”
