HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-11-02 Planning Commission Minutes PLANNING COMMISSION COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I MINUTES NOVEMBER 2, 2007 The Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:03 a.m. in the County of Hawaii, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii, with First Vice-Chairman C. Kimo Alameda presiding. PRESENT: C. Kimo Alameda ABSENT & EXCUSED: William Graham Takashi Domingo Rene’ Siracusa Andrew Iwashita Alvin Rho Shelly Ogata Rodney Watanabe Rell Woodward Ivan Torigoe, Deputy Corporation Counsel Christopher Yuen, Planning Director Phyllis Fujimoto, Staff Planner Jeff Darrow, Staff Planner The Chair introduced the Commissioners and staff to members of the public. All those testifying were duly sworn in. REZ 07-000071 The Commission took this item up at 9:05 a.m. with DIEN-JUNG LIN approximately 12 people from the public in attendance. NEKOBA WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO APPLICANT: DIEN-JUNG LIN NEKOBA (REZ 07-000071) Change of Zone from Single-Family Residential 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial 10,000 square feet (CN-10) for approximately 39,771 square feet of land. The property is located along the south side of Kekuanaoa Street, between Manono Street and Hinano Street, Waiakea House Lots, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-36:25 and 26. (SEE EXHIBIT A) RECESSED The Chair called a short recess at 10:44 a.m. RECONVENED The meeting reconvened at 10:54 a.m. REZ 07-000072 The Commission took this item up at 10:54 a.m. with DMS approximately 12 people from the public in attendance. INVESTMENTS,LLLP WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO APPLICANT: DMS INVESTMENTS,LLLP (REZ 07-000072) Change of Zone from Single Family Residential – 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to Neighborhood Commercial – 20,000 square feet (CN-20) district for 22,500 square feet of land. The property is located along the east side of Manono Street, approximately 290 feet north of the Manono Street - Kekuanaoa Street intersection, Waiakea House Lots, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, TMK: 2-2-34:84. (SEE EXHIBIT B) RECESSED The Chair called a short recess at 11:37 a.m. RECONVENED The meeting reconvened at 11:49 a.m. REZ 07-000073 The Commission took this item up at 11:49 a.m. with JINSOO AND approximately 8 people from the public in attendance. RAN HUI IIDA WAIAKEA, SOUTH HILO APPLICANTS: JINSOO AND RAN HUI IIDA (REZ 07-000073) Change of Zone from Single Family Residential 10,000 square feet (RS-10) to a Neighborhood Commercial 20,000 square feet (CN-20) for 23,559 square feet of land. The property is located along the west side of Kilauea Avenue, approximately 420 feet south of the Kilauea Avenue – Puainako Street intersection, Waiakea Homestead House Lots, South Hilo, Hawaii, Tax Map Key: 2-2-40:121. (SEE EXHIBIT C) MINUTES The Commission took up the following minutes simultaneously at this time, 12:40 p.m. August 3, 2007 and October 5, 2007 – It was moved by Commissioner Domingo and seconded by Commissioner Iwashita that the minutes be approved as circulated. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote of all Commissioners in attendance. ADMINISTRATIVE There were no administrative matters. MATTERS th ANNOUNCEMENTS Staff announced the next meeting is scheduled for November 16 in Kona.
