MINUTES
November 18, 2005
The Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:10 a.m. in the King Kamehameha's Kona
Beach Hotel, Islander Room, 75-5660 Palani Road, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii with Chairman Fred
Galdones presiding.

The Chair welcomed everyone.
The Chair called a recess so that the Commissioners could review last minute communication
they received.

RECONVENED:The meeting reconvened at 9:27 a.m.
The Chair introduced the Commissioners and Staff to the public.

Discussion and action on the Hearing Officers report on a Use Permit to allow the establishment
ofanelementaryschoolon2.635acresoflandzonedAgricultural1-acre(A-1a)andsituated
within the State Land Use Urban district. The property is located along the southeast side of
Kapiolani Road, approximately 550 feet east of the Kapiolani Road-Lindsey Road intersection,
Waimea, South Kohala, Hawaii, TMK: 6-5-4:portion of 25.

DANIEL IBBETSONapproximately 7 people from the public in attendance.

APPLICANT: DANIEL IBBETSON (SPP 05-015) Application for a Special Permit to allow a
2-unit bed and breakfast establishment on 0.722 acre of land situated within the State Land Use
Agricultural District. The property is located along the west (makai) side of Mamalahoa
Highway (Highway 11), approximately 120 feet south of the Kaohe Road-Mamalahoa Highway
intersection, Kaohe 5th, South Kona, Hawaii, TMK: 8-7-9:14.
