HomeMy WebLinkAboutAHP public meeting presentationAFFORDABLE HOUSING PRODUCTION PROGRAM PUBLIC MEETING INTRODUCTION This Public Meeting is to hear the views, comments and concerns from the community regarding affordable housing needs in the County of Hawaii NEEDS AND PRIORITIES Target AMI Rental/For-sale units Single/Multifamily units Infrastructure ( Roads, water or sewer ) Other BACKGROUND In June 2022, the Council passed, and Mayor Roth signed Ordinance 22-77, which appropriates at least $5,000,000 per year for the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) to facilitate programs that support affordable housing production. The primary objective of the Affordable Housing Production (AHP) Program is to support, increase, and sustain the supply of affordable rental and owner-occupied housing. ADMINISTRATIVE RULES The Administrative Rules for the AHP Program is in the process of being finalized and approved. The rules will be available at the County Clerk’s office or on the OHCD website once completed. FUNDING / REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL For fiscal year (FY) 2022-23, the OHCD received $9 million, and anticipates receiving at least a $5 million for FY 2023-24. This upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP) will combine both FY 22-23 and FY 23-24 funds.
