NEW BUSINESS KCDP Implementation. Action Committee will continue ongoing review of 1. KCDP Goals, Policies and Actions & discuss roles & responsibilities. 2. Sub-Committee. a. Discuss Scope and Reports of the Four (4) created sub-committees. (1) Transportation and Public Facilities; (2) Land Use, Environmental Resources and Cultural Resources; (3) Housing, Energy and Economic Development; (4) Education and Outreach (see Operating Guidelines) Protocol for Kona CDP Action Committee Members 3. on providing individual testimony (via letter or in person) to Councils, Committees, and Commissions and the need to avoid representing the perspective of the Action Committee 4. Planning Department Update. Staff will provide update on Kona District projects/programs. a. Palamanui Change of Zone and Amendment: Update on status Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer b. Transportation Projects Update: on behalf of Crysttal Atkins, Deanne Bugado will provide Committee with current status of Kona Road Projects c. Planning Department list of applications submitted from 8/26/09 and actions pending. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC REGARDING ITEMS ON THE AGENDA ANNOUNCEMENTS 10/28 - Mayor's Conference Room - aka Hanama 1 ADJOURNMENT Notice: The purpose of the public hearings is to afford all interested persons a reasonable opportunity to be heard on the above items. According to the Operating Guidelines of the Kona Community Development Plan Action Committee, a person desiring to submit oral or written testimony shall indicate her/his name and whether the testimony is on her/his behalf or as a representative of an organization or individual. Written testimony shall be submitted with an original and nine copies prior to testifying. The Committee would appreciate timely submittal to the Planning Department at least one week prior to the hearing date to allow for mailing and thorough Committee review. If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawaii County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawaii County Code}. A lobbyist means “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spend more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a) (6), Hawaii County Code} Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at 961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five (5) working days prior to the meeting date, to arrange for accommodations. “Other reasonable modification” refers to communication methods or devices for people with disabilities who are mentally and/or physically challenged PLANNING DIRECTOR BJ Leithead Todd
