With this letter, the County of Hawaii Department of Environmental Management announces
the availability of the programmatic draft environmental impact statement (PDEIS) for the
proposed Addition of Wastewater Services for the Puna District, located in the planning area for
the Puna Community Development Plan on the Island of Hawaii.
The PDEIS is being published in the Environmental Review Program's (ERP's) The
Environmental Notice on April 23, 2023. It is provided under provisions of Hawaii Revised
Statutes Chapter 343 and Hawaii Administrative Rules 11-200.1. Beginning April 23, 2023, the
document can be accessed at the ERP's The Environmental Notice website, here;

The comment period runs 45 calendar days from the date of publication in The Environmental
Notice. Comments must be received no later than June 7, 2023.
Your comments will help inform the programmatic environmental impact statement. Please
