The applicants propose the demolition of an existing dwelling and the construction of a new dwelling, farm dwelling, detached garage, driveway(s), retaining walls, septic system, and related improvements including fencing and landscaping. Excavation, grading, fill, and compaction activities will occur within a —60,000-sq.-ft. area. The applicants indicate the project area has been previously impacted by ground-disturbing activities associated with sugarcane cultivation and the development of the existing residential structure. A review of SHPD records indicates that no previous archaeological studies have included the current project area and that no historic properties have been identified. Historic (1965) and contemporary aerial imagery confirms that the project parcel has been previously impacted by ground-disturbing activites associated with sugarcane cultivation and the development of the existing residential structure that is proposed for demolition. Based on the information above, and the understanding that the proposed project will occur within previously impacted portions of the project parcel, SHPD's determination is no historic properties affected for the current project. Pursuant to HAR§13-284-7(e),when the SHPD agrees that the action will not affect any significant historic properties, this is the SHPD's written concurrence and historic preservation review ends. The HRS 6E historic preservation review process is ended. The permit issuance process MU proceed.
