Dear Members of the Leeward Planning Commission:
The Board of Directors of the Pualani Estates at Kona Homeowners Association
(hereafter "PEK Board"), a 362-single-family home subdivision immediately south of
the subject property, hereby submits the following comments about the subject
application for a special use permit.
We have no particular objections to the operation of a gymnastics instruction program
in the building on the property as described. We are, however, concerned that
installation and maintenance of the "38 gravel surfaced parking stalls" and "1000 foot
gravel driveway" might be construed as permitting Bolton, Inc., the co-applicant, to
resume processing of aggregate material that was halted by order of the Department
of Public Works on June 3, 2022. Accordingly, we ask that any order approving the
subject application specifically prohibit such processing activity.
