From: Donna Parker <br /> To: LPCtestimonv <br /> Subject: Kaupulehu Land LLC <br /> Date: Tuesday,June 13,2023 8:30:12 AM <br /> Aloha Commission: <br /> This email is to inform you that I am in OPPOSITION of the above-referenced applications <br /> being made by Kaupulehu Land LLC. <br /> I was born and raised in Waimea where my father was a rancher and a farmer, and he took <br /> great pride in this. <br /> People live in Waimea or move to Waimea because of the open spaces, the beautiful <br /> mountains and hills that surround us. Waimea was never meant to be a town for developers <br /> who purchase land, want to change the zoning to selfishly satisfy their bottomline. This <br /> development is irresponsible, and disrespectful to the agricultural land. One is supposed to <br /> farm or use it for agricultural purposes,NOT to build (3) 2-story buildings, a large parking lot <br /> and (5) additional residential lots. <br /> The traffic in this section of Waimea is already very dangerous with cars weaving in and out <br /> of several driveways to get on and off of the highway, and/or the center lane. The roadway <br /> cannot support this additional traffic, and has a formal traffic study been conducted? <br /> If the Commission recommends this development to the Council,you will be part of the <br /> problem, and not the solution. <br /> I absolutely DO NOT support agricultural land being turned into commercial/residential lots! <br /> Mahalo, <br /> Donna and Walter Parker <br />
