KAILUA VILLAGE DESIGN COMMISSION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a meeting and hearing to be held by the Kailua
Village Design Commission of the County of Hawai‘i in accordance with the provisions
of
Chapters 91-3 and 92-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and the Rules of Procedure for the
Kailua Village Design Commission.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Review and Adoption of amended Rules of Practice and Procedures for the Kailua
Village Design Commission (“KVDC”).
All interested persons shall have the opportunity to submit data, views, or
arguments, orally or in writing. The KVDC shall fully consider all written and
oral submissions respecting the proposed rule amendments. The KVDC may
make its decision at the public hearing or announce at the public hearing the date
when it intends to make its decision. Upon adoption, amendment, or repeal of a
rule, the KVDC, if requested to do so by an interested person, shall issue a
concise statement of the principal reasons for and against its determination.
To minimize cost without impacting availability to the public for review, the proposed
rules are available on the Planning Department’s website at
www.co.hawaii.hi.us/directory/dir_plan.htm. Copies of the proposed rules are also
available at the Planning Department, Aupuni Center, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 3, Hilo,
Hawaii and at the Kona office of the Planning Department, 75-5706 Kuakini Highway,
Suite 109, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Copies are also available by mail upon request.

Notice: If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawai‘i County Clerk within
five days of becoming a lobbyist {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (b), Hawai‘i County Code}.
A lobbyist means “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spend
more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of
attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging
others to communicate with public officials.” {Article 15, Section 2-91.3 (a) (6), Hawai‘i
County Code.}
Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service, other reasonable modification, or
language interpretation to access this meeting please contact the Planning Department at
961-8288 as soon as possible, but no later than five working days prior to the meeting
date, to arrange for accommodations. “Other reasonable modification” refers to
communication methods or devices for people with disabilities who are mentally and/or
physically challenged.
