Aloha,
My name is William LaClair and I live in the area of Pu'ukapu. I am writing in opposition to
all applications submitted by Kaupulehu Land LLC.
I don't believe that the agriculture land should be converted to commercial because of the fact
that we don't have enough ag land to provide for the existing community and the proposed
development would encourage more people to move to this beautiful island.
There are several other factors to this development that will have a negative impact on our
community as well. The amount of congestion that our roads endure will only get worse.
There are native birds and animals that also use that area and surrounding areas for making
their homes and for food.The impact and strain that will be put on other businesses and
infrastructure is too great.
In closing, I want to reiterate that I would like to ask the powers that be to reject any
applications set forth by Kaupulehu Land LLC and Metzler contracting in regards to this
proposed project. I feel that the risks to our community and environment outweigh any
benefits that the proposed project may provide.
