From: Tanya Moroan
To: WPCtestimony
Cc: iohnCablandolanninahawaii.com;robertisilber(abamail.com
Subject: support Special Permit request(PL-SPP-2022-000016)
Date: Thursday,January 5,2023 5:00:00 AM
To whom it may concern,
Aloha! I am writing in support of the special permit application for Robert Silber. Robert is a
kind, generous and hard-working person who has developed a high-quality neighborhood that
is a benefit to the larger community. He has 30 years of experience in
agriculture/permaculture, environmental work as well as personal growth and development.
He is a man of integrity and has good relations with many in the local community. He has
planted and tended hundreds of fruit trees and fenced off over 40 acres of land around the 12
parcels in the neighborhood to increase sustainability and prevent pig damage. He has invested
significantly in the property to build a solid infrastructure and safe buildings and is committed
to ensuring that any outstanding building permit issues are resolved. He stayed and continued
to work on the land and infrastructure even after the devastating 2018 Lava Flow and the
Pandemic.
He has continuously attempted to communicate with the neighbors about traffic, sound, the
gate, and other situations that may occur living in the subdivision. He has done this by creating
multiple separate lots so that guests have a place to park that is off of Red Road and not in the
way of the neighbors and there have been zero noise complaints in the last two years. He takes
pride in upholding a drug and alcohol-free space where people stay present and are able to
work through issues consciously.
I ask you to approve this special permit request as Robert has demonstrated his care for the
Aina, and the Puna community and his willingness to do the hard work necessary to create
something of value for others.
Sincerely,
Tanya Morgan
