To Windward Planning Commission
As a Puna resident, I am writing to support the above application for a special use permit. I believe we need places like
this to not only help build a stronger community but also to create jobs and a clean local economy based on education
and tourism.
I am a frequent visitor using the facilities and urge all that are concerned to visit the center and see what an inspirational
place it is indeed. The gardens/orchards and off -grid infrastructure exemplify how people can live more closely to the
land and a sustainable style that adds to the solution of the carbon crisis instead of creating more problems. Also since
Kalani has taken a big step back, this type of center is in great need.
I understand that HER is sensitive to their neighbors and have initiated conversations and guidelines to address
concerns.
Your approval of this application would be very appreciated.

I took a month long retreat at HER that helped me to heal and grow in a way that I truly needed at the time. Keep places
like this open for the world.
