I am writing in support of the county landfill ban for certain recyclable items suchas green waste, metals, plastics, paper, paperboard and glass from entering thelandfill. Here at Mr. K’s we accept HI5, cardboard, glass, newspaper, and electronic waste;so most of the items mentioned in the ban would have a home here until shipped offisland to be further broken down; i.e., scrapped for parts and/or recycled. I definitely oppose incineration as an alternative. I see incinerating everything aswasteful. Farmer’s could use cardboard/newspaper as ground covering for weeds.HI5 Aluminum, plastic, and glass can be recycled and sent off island to becomenew cans and bottles. E-waste can be shipped to processing plants to extractvaluable metals. I don’t see how burning all these items will benefit theenvironment, the land, or its people. Thank you for allowing my voice to be heard in support of this county landfill ban. Mahalo Nui and Many Blessings, Dale Kuamoo
