My name is Jordan Naihe and I live in Puukapu DHHL in Waimea and I oppose the
application submitted by Kaupulehu Land LLC to change ag zoned land to commercial zoned
land.
I don't support turning agricultural land into commercial land. We have enough of that
happening already, and this will only promote more loss of ag land in a state that says that one
of it's main goals is food sustainability.
We have a long road filled with many obstacles in order to even get close to achieving food
sustainability, but what I do know is that rezoning Ag land to commercial land is part of the
problem. And we need solutions.
I am asking the planning committee to reject these applications and hold onto our precious
agricultural land. We need it, and all future generations of Hawaii need it.
