My name is Lacy and I live in Waikoloa Village and I OPPOSE all applications
submitted by Kaupulehu Land LLC.
I do not believe we need, nor do I want more commercial space in Waimea,
especially at the entry to town where the traffic risks are great. 19,000 square feet of
commercial space is overbuilding the lot. In addition, I don't support turning
agricultural land into commercial or residential lots. We have enough of that
happening already, and this will only promote more loss of ag land.
I am asking the planning committee to reject these applications.

My name is Kathryn Stallsmith and I live on Kaula ili Place, directly across the highway from
the proposed development and I OPPOSE all applications submitted by Kaupulehu Land
LLC.
I do not believe we need, nor do I want more commercial space in Waimea, especially at the
entry to town where the traffic risks are great. 19,000 square feet of commercial space is
overbuilding the lot. In addition, I don't support turning agricultural land into commercial or
residential lots. We have enough of that happening already, and this will only promote more
loss of ag land.
I am asking the planning committee to reject these applications.
The proposal is a greedy idea by a developer and not in the best interest of the community.
Can you imagine what might happen if Waimea's Agricultural land was all able to be rezoned
to commercial land? The entire fabric of our community will change. The proposal of this
development sets a dangerous precedent that other Ag lots might be able to be rezoned to
commercial use.
I own a business, CrossFit AllStar LLC just 300 meters down the road from this proposed
development. We're located at 64-1032 Mamalahoa Hwy. Each day in the morning between 6-
9am and afternoons from about 3:30-6pm it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to turn left out of my
business in order to go home. I usually sit for many minutes waiting for an opening in traffic
which never comes. I usually end up turning right, then make a U-turn down Kinohou Street,
then head home. There is SO MUCH TRAFFIC.
On top of that. I ride my bike and walk SO MUCH in this town because I like to get exercise,
and it's simply not safe. There are not enough sidewalks or bike lanes. If you add more
commercial activity to the area of town proposed, it will become even more of a danger to
pedestrians.
I strongly oppose it.

My name is Bernadette Ululani Centeio.My home is in Pu'ukapu and I oppose all applications by Ka'upulehu Land
LLC for developing ag land in this area.Waimea has enough residential building going on,and 5 more residences
built alongside commercial sites aren't needed.Waimea's ag land should remain ag land and farming and other
agriculture pursuits should be incentivized.This commercial site is not needed.
Moreover,this area of Waimea is in an already congested traffic are where more traffic isn't needed.
Thank you for considering my testimony,and for protecting the nature of Waimea.

My name is Carlene Wilson and I live on Kamukamu Pl.in Waimea.
I am writing to oppose the change of zoning being requested by Kaupulehu Land LLC from agricultural to
residential and commercial.The infrastructure here is not able to handle more traffic than we already have. I live a
few hundred feet from the property described and I drive on Mamalahoa Hwy.on a daily basis. It can be extremely
difficult to make a left turn onto Mamalahoa not just for me but for anyone trying to come out of any one the the
side roads,whether it's a business or a residential street.From Kamamalu on going towards Hamakua,there are not
enough merge lanes.Just turn lanes that are not always helpful.I've seen quite a few close calls.I've also seen
drivers illegally use the turn lane as a passing lane.
The traffic can also be a mess if there's an accident,road work,or tree trimming. It's bad enough at pan hang time.
I feel that until the infrastructure can be improved,the change of zoning should not be approved.
