CAMPBELL (SPP 08-000057) <br />was called to order at 1:30 p.m. in the County of Hawaii, Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 <br />Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii, with First Vice-Chairman Rell Woodward presiding. <br />PRESENT: Rell Woodward ABSENT & EXCUSED: Rodney Watanabe <br />C. CAMPBELL (SPP 08-000057) <br />Special Permit to allow the establishment of a tutoring center on one acre of land situated within <br />th <br />the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located along the makai side of 6 <br />th <br />Avenue, approximately 2,300 feet south of the Makuu Drive and 6 Avenue, Hawaiian Paradise <br />Park Subdivision, Puna, Hawaii, TMK: 1-5-27:43. <br />WOODWARD: Next order of business is a contested case. Applicant is Marta Campbell <br />requesting a Special Permit to allow the establishment of a tutoring center on one acre of land <br />situated within the State Land Use Agricultural District. <br />HAYASHI: Thank you, Mr. Chair. I‘ll just give a brief summary as to what happened <br />th <br />since the last meeting on July 10 and also give a general description of the area for some of the <br />Commissioners who weren’t there. The subject property is within the Hawaiian Paradise Park <br />Subdivision. It is at this particular location. This particular roadway is Makuu Drive going <br />towards the ocean, and this would be towards Highway 130. The subject property is located on <br />th <br />the mauka side of 6 Avenue at this particular location. The applicant is requesting a special <br />permit to allow the establishment of a tutoring center within an existing dwelling; and it will be <br />to accommodate approximately 16 children from K to Grade 6.
