Prior to forming Out of the Sea Media Arts Inc., Jeff Haun owned and operated Mauna Kea Television in Hilo for three years. He also was the Television Production Manager at the Hilo cable television company. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo and an Associate of Science degree in Broadcasting, Visual Design and Production from Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. Prior to forming Out of the Sea Media Arts Inc., Wendy Haun operated Wendy Holland Productions from 1984 until 1999. Her experience ranges from coordinating national television commercials, motion pictures, National Endowment for the Arts documentaries to independently developing documentaries and producing corporate television programming. 2 Recent Projects and Contacts: Hawai’i Floriculture and Nursery Association, Feb. 2015 to June 2023. Designed, developed and implemented the video components of marketing and public relations campaigns to encourage purchase of locally grown flowers, foliage and Christmas trees. Funded in part by the Hawai’i State Department of Agriculture, the campaigns sought to improve the local economy and reduce the chance of alien species arriving on imported plants. The campaigns featured broadcast quality short promotional videos, documentaries and live webinars attended by large global audiences. Contact- Eric Tanouye, HFNA President 808-959-3535 County of Hawai‘i Department of Environmental Management, Recycling Division, November 2005 to June 2023 Designed, developed and implemented educational programs to increase reduction, reuse and recycling of solid waste in the County of Hawai‘i. Community data and social marketing principles were considered to maximize effectiveness. This was followed with production of the media and development of strategies for distribution. Media included videos, radio and television PSAs, signage, banners, posters, newspaper ads, PowerPoint presentations and event planning. Performed in-person educational outreach for proper tire disposal. Designed and produced a five-minute video to educate the public about water source protection. The video featured a Hawaiian chant with images of the chanter intermixed with waterfalls and other scenery. Ho’okupu: A Celebration of Native Hawaiian Women Writers, Aug. 2009 Produced a multi-camera recording of a live performance of readings by Native Hawaiian Women Writers. The event was organized by Miyoko Sugano, former Professor Emeritus of English at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo. Funding was provided by the Hawai’i Community Foundation. ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai’i, January 2008 to July 2008 Designed and produced a three-minute promotional video that showcases the world class Center. Hawai'i County Police Department, September 2004 to December 2004.
